New Car, Very Cheap Car Insurance, No Deposit

Very Cheap Car Insurance No Deposit

I wasn’t planning to buy a new car but I didn’t have much choice in the matter. I knew my old hatchback was running out of time but I really loved that car. I also loved not having a car payment. In fact, I loved it so much that I just pretended life was always going to be that way. I would just keep driving my car forever and it would be fine. What I mean is that I wasn’t planning ahead and had very limited savings.

My car started making a weird noise so I took it to my mechanic and got some bad news. He told me he could fix it but it was only a matter of time until the next thing broke. His suggestion was that I forget about it and just get a new car.

It obviously wasn’t the news I wanted but I figured that’s the way things were going to go when the noise started in the first place. Anyway, I took what little savings I had and put a down payment on a pretty decent used car. The monthly payment was reasonable, too, so things were shaping up pretty well.

But then there was the issue of insurance. I needed to make sure I had very cheap car insurance no deposit and decent coverage. It took a while but after asking around and scouring the internet, I managed to find a great company. They seemed like they were made for me, actually. I really liked the whole experience because it was kind of no nonsense but I never felt like I was being judged. You would think that calling an insurance agent and admitting upfront that you need cheap insurance isn’t a great way to get a policy. But it actually worked.

What was really great was that I got coverage that wasn’t just the bare minimum. I actually felt like they were trying to help me out which was nice. So often you feel like people are trying to take advantage of you, especially when you don’t have much money. I mean, insurance salesmen are the stereotypical example of people trying to take advantage of you. But I’m happy to report that wasn’t my experience at all. They really helped me make an annoying situation a little less stressful. I walked away feeling like they listened to me and really gave me the best deal. In the end I found a great deal on no deposit car insurance so I have no complaints!

Used Cars: Bargains on a Budget

Used Cars – How I saved some money

I admit that I wasn’t very happy when my car finally gave out, but the twins were about 6 months old and we were rapidly running out of room in my old hatchback. I loved that thing. I bought it when I was a freshman in college, which was admittedly a long time ago. It was my first adult purchase, I got the loan without a cosigner and made all the payments myself. I was proud of that car. She lasted as long as she could, I guess.

Anyway, it was almost winter and we knew we needed something more reliable, especially with the boys. Here’s the thing about twins: they’re harder than you can even imagine. I mean, one baby is hard. Two? Two is next to impossible. So, my wife didn’t go back to work after she took time off for maternity leave. That wasn’t in the plan initially but, you know, kids change everything.

We had a little saved for a down payment because we were planning on getting a new car soon but we had to carefully budget now that we only had one income. A new car was out. We started looking at the local used car dealerships are realized something: used cars are pretty awesome.

Let me explain. We wanted a newer model and were willing to spend a bit of money. Not what we’d pay for a new car, obviously, but we also didn’t want some decade old rust box, which is what I think is the stereotype for pre-owned cars.

Anyway, we looked into a model that was a few years older than what we were considering before we had to be a little tougher about our finances and were immediately sold. We’d been planning to get a new, reliable model and drive it for a decade or so anyway. There’s not much difference between buying an older, used model of the same car and hoping to get 7 or 8 years out of it. Though this is such a reliable model, we’ll probably get a decade out of it anyway.

My point is if you’re in the market for a new car, don’t count out any used cars for sale. It saved us a lot of money, we still got what we wanted, and we have a lot more room for the twins. For now, anyway. Oh before I forget, I found my used car on
